LIGHTS DOWN LOW

LIGHTS DOWN LOW
We’ve been battered by inflation
Hammered by price increments.
Chronic vehicular traffic
And incessant haggling
Have made our spirits fatigued.
The mornings are disheartening
The afternoons are scorching.
Our pockets are shallow
Yet with burrow.
Our days prolong
Like gowns so long.
Yet at night our spirits must make jolly.
Let’s fight the cold together.
Let’s distress our worn out souls in unison.
Let’s unburden our minds with mutual warmth.
Let’s tickle our eardrums with chilly whispers.
Let’s ejaculate beats from heart to heart.
Let our tired lips kiss in relaxation.
Let’s turn our lights down low tonight
While we massage our weary spirits to rest.

GOD IS NOT A DJ

GOD IS NOT A DJ
In our ups and downs
Through our thick and thins
Our thoughts go high and low.
As mortals as we are
In our days of glory and pleasure
Our inner beings at times forget
That there is an invisible hand which steers our daily affairs.
Yet when days go gloomy
And nights go ugly
We suddenly tend to realize
That there is a Higher authority
That rules and directs our lives.
Whether we’re Christians or Buddhists
Harikrishna or Eckists
Muslims or Jewish
Traditionalists or Rastafarians
He reigns in our daily affairs.
Let’s not dash to Him only when the storms roar.
Let’s not bow to Him only when life turns ugly.
Let’s not make Him our last resort when all means fail.
He’s not a DJ who just plays our requests.
He is a choirmaster
Who desires each one of us
To willingly surrender the voice of our daily lives
To be conducted by Him
To produce a melodious life of harmony and tranquility.
Make Him your choirmaster
Not your DJ

HER LOVE IS L-O-V-E

HER LOVE IS L-O-V-E
She stands out tall
Trust me, she definitely does!
With a heart so silky & tender.
In a world of entrenched emotional hardships,
I thought she was a girl
But then I realized she was a woman.
Well-baked & well-garnished
With an eye that sees beyond the eye lids.
Beyond my obvious horrible looks
She saw a prince charming.
Beyond my mighty pot belly
She saw six packs.
In my vacuum pockets
She saw a Dangote cum Bill Gates.
And even in my evident extreme blockheadedness
She saw an Einstein.
I thought I was finished
But in her eyes I saw a statement which read
‘This is just your beginning’.
Love comes with different spellings.
Some come as B-E-A-U-T-Y,
Others come as M-O-N-E-Y,
To others it is F-A-M-E,
While to most people it remains S-E-X.
But her love came to me with passion.
It came as a boundless L-O-V-E.
