LABOUR ON

LABOUR ON

The vision looks light years asunder

The mission looks impossible

Time flies with the cheetah

Opportunities fade with the wind

Frustrations never say die

Bolts and nuts appear foes

But no matter what or how it seems,

Labour on!

Labour on, mankind!

Labour on!

Sweat persistently glues to the skin

Hunger drills the tummy awfully

Thirst thrust the throat like a dagger

The inner man just doesn't click

Energy levels drown at sea

Words of encouragement sound nonsensical

Assistance slumbers when we call

But however thick or thin it seems

We must labour on

Labour on, mankind!

Labour on!

Labour on, mason!

When projects never appear

Labour on, civil servant!

When your take-home pay doesn’t seem to take you home

Labour on, student!

When grades ‘C and D’ become your identity

Labour on, graduate!

When your countless job applications yield no call up

Labour on, lady!

When no love proposal comes your way

Labour on, husband!

When all your skills in bed trigger no foetus

Labour on, pastor!

When coins conquer your offering bowl

Labour on!

Labour on, son of man!

Labour on, daughter of Eve!

Labour on!

Labour on!

For as the tree always whispers to the seed below,

For before it gets better

It definitely has to get worse!

Labour on!

HALLELUJAH

HALLELUJAH
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!! Hallelujah!!!
You planted my feet on higher pedestals
Hallelujah!
You paid the debt you never owed
Hallelujah!
You traded my garment of shame for that of fame
Hallelujah!
You swapped my embarrassment of disgrace
For an embarrassment of grace
Hallelujah!
You elevated me from the grave,
And prepared me for a conclave
Hallelujah!
You swallowed my headaches
And brought upon me boundless blessing aches
Hallelujah!
You forgave me even before I cried to You
Hallelujah!
You made my foe live to bow before my toes
Hallelujah!
You made me a giant in the midst of men
Hallelujah!
You made my cup run over
Hallelujah!
You illuminated my darkest days,
And warmed my chilly nights
Hallelujah!
You banished my sorrows,
And imposed endless joy
Hallelujah!
You hasten to my rescue even before I fall
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!! Hallelujah!!!

You’re the solid rock of old
Hallelujah!
The invincible victor
Hallelujah!
He that neither blinkers nor slumbers
Hallelujah!
The unchangeable one
Hallelujah!
The mighty One with countless attributes
Hallelujah!
The oasis in the midst of deserts
Hallelujah!
Our one-time health insurance premium
Hallelujah!
The protocol-breaker
Hallelujah!
The antivirus that needs no update
Hallelujah!
The current solution to future challenges
Hallelujah!
The mega pillar that hangs the world
Hallelujah!
The one never seen, yet incomparable
Hallelujah!
The marksman who never misses His target
Hallelujah!
He that knows the omega from the alpha
Hallelujah!
He that makes virgins conceive without insertion
Hallelujah!
He that makes hungry lions lose appetite for meat
Hallelujah!
The santaclaus that knows no season
Hallelujah!
He whose brakes fail when He blesses
Hallelujah!
His mercies are in multiples of infinity
Hallelujah!
His grace needs no container
Hallelujah!
He’s the feeding bottle that needs no replenishment
Hallelujah!
The unquenchable fire without source
Hallelujah!
He whose fury comes at a snail’s pace,
Yet, blesses at a cheetah’s pace.
Hallelujah!
His word is AMEN
Hallelujah!
He that makes mankind sing,
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!! Hallelujah!!!

THE AMPHITHEATER

THE AMPHITHEATER
It’s a naked stage
With lights so glittering
Yet so dim
With an atmosphere of fire and ice
With audience very far yet very near
Awaiting that moment of truth
Be it a rib-cracking comedy,
A heart-piercing tragedy
Or a perplexing tragicomedy,
Within a midget of a second
Or a tower of an hour,
Individually per time,
Without fear or favour,
We shall all be summoned oneday
To perform our role on the perpetual script.
Be it a major leading role
Or a mere supporting role
Each one of us shall account for his time spent on stage
How prepared are you?
How ready are your feet to grace this stage?
Will your performance be over
Before the Maker calls,
Or will the amphitheater be shut
Be your performance starts?
